REVIEW Exercise 6: Moving Poster

Share information about your poster and designer for context, watch each other’s Moving Posters, and provide feedback on what is working and what can be improved.

Look at the following aspects:

  • communication and enhancement of original message/design (without compromising original poster).
  • quality of deconstruction/reconstruction of existing design 
  • exploration of space and depth
  • smooth natural motion
  • sequence (pacing, order of elements, transitioning, seamless loop)

    • What is the tone of the song?
    • The message or meaning?
    • What imagery comes to mind?
    • What narrative or message do you want to send?
    • What approach do you want to take? – image-association – collision or comparison montage, analytical sequential montage, motif, jump cuts, match cuts…?
  • Rough written outline instead of storyboard (reference clips you are finding to tell your narrative)
  • Find all your clips from the Prelinger Archives before coming to class. (link to some examples on Slack channel)
  • Optional: Have clips in the Premiere timeline already started before coming to class (this is if you want to get ahead and get feedback in person since we don’t have class next Thursday)
