Passion Project Part 2

The second half of this project encourages you to transform your passion project into a finished piece and marketable commodity. This means considering all possible outlets for sharing your work with others while sustaining it as a potential long-term project, product, or business.

There are 5 objectives/requirements with the second part of this project:

  1. Refine and/or expand upon what you made over the 20 – 25 days.
  2. Transform into a tangible product/project out of your daily passion project. Here are some ideas:
    • Brand for line of t-shirts, pins, cards, stickers, patches, notebooks, calendar...
    • Poster series
    • Publication design
    • Product design
    • Deck of Cards
    • Game/Board game
    • Packaging
    • Animation/motion/video
    • Build a brand around your work and apply it to a hypothetical campaign – like a restaurant, food and beverage line, retail, or a festival/event?
  3. Share a behind-the-scenes process of how you made something from your project to share on social media. Could be a video or step-by-step still images.
  4. Create promotional social media posts pushing your new product
  5. Short 6 min pitch to class including:
    1. Share daily explorations/entries from beginning of quarter – provide a summary of process and outcomes
    2. Show a grid of all 20–25 outcomes
    3. Idea development for final project – what was your idea and how did you decide on it? How does it relate to your daily passion project from the beginning of the quarter?
    4. Explanation of marketability/intended audience/release strategy – how does your product differ from what else is out there? Who is it for? How would you plan on releasing it/introducing it to your audience? How could it potentially grow?
    5. Behind-the-scenes process demonstration
    6. Show final product, mockups, and promotional social media posts
