1. Conduct at least 3-4 Usability Tests on your Lo-Fi Prototype and test others

  • Copy Usability Test Google Form OR Print the Usability Test PDF in class.
  • If copying the Google Form: Click on the three vertical dots on the top right and click on “Make a Copy” and save to your own folder.
  • Come up with 3 tasks for someone to complete. Don’t make the tasks too easy, vague, or leading – or what is the point of testing?
    • For example, “Update your personal photo and bio” is better than “Go to the Profile Screen.”
    • You can always reference your user task flows you previously created.
  • Have the user talk out loud as they use your product.

2. Look at each other’s style boards

DUE THURSDAY

Turn deliverables into Team folders on Google Drive also found on Slack #0_classinfo. Label each file accordingly by task number and name. Figma Design Iterations link will also be turned in on #project2 Slack Channel.

TASK 15 – USABILITY TEST KEY TAKEAWAYS

Written summary/main takeaways of usability test results.  Try to identify the primary things that you can work on and improve during the next iteration of your prototype based upon the feedback you received.

TASK 16 – INITIAL DESIGN ITERATIONS

Design

  • Each team member should take a stab separately at designing the UI. Each member creates at least 3 variation sets of 2 different screens in user flow for a total of 6 designs each.
  • Example: Choose 2 screens in your user flow such as the Home Screen and Profile Screen. You can try 3 different styles for each including varying layouts, typography, colors, icons, images, labeling

How to Turn In:

  • Share a Figma link for your sets of screens on the Slack Channel #project2. No need to worry about having a working clickable prototype at this stage. This is just to review and leave comments on design variations. Label screens appropriately in the Figma document, so we know what we are comparing and who the designs belong to.
