Objectives
Learn the relationship between content, structure and design that is the foundation of successful web design.
Examine common problems and solutions to interactive design within the non-linear structure of the web including information architecture and usability.
Explore how fundamental graphic design principles apply to the discipline of web design.
Analyze popular web design styles and their successful application.
Develop an understanding of the main technological issues in designing for the web, including markup and stylesheet languages, file formats, web fonts, resolution, and optimization.
Master the software tools of web design, including Visual Studio Code, HTML, CSS, Skeleton framework, and Invision, Figma, or Adobe XD
Foster an understanding of how website design comps are translated into completed websites for online publishing.
Gain knowledge and experience from user-testing and creating interactive prototypes.
Understand the importance of file organization and time management when developing a website.
Prerequisite
DSGN 330; DSGN 351; concurrent enrollment in DSGN 340.
