File Naming Conventions

In order to be W3C standards compliant, easier for the user, and for you, file names on the web should:

  1. be lower case
  2. separate words with dashes
  3. avoid special characters, spaces, and capitalization
  4. be descriptive but succinct

correct example

  • buckminster-fuller.html

incorrect example

  • Buckminster Fuller#.html

I would use this rule for everything on the web including html, css, scripts, images, folders.
