Critique Project 1: Website Redesign
You will have 5 minutes to present and a few minutes for critique. Begin by showing your client, audience, goals, and solution statement extracted from your Case Study and then take us through your Designs for each page both desktop and mobile.
Assign Project 2: Interactive Storytelling
1. Choose Story:
- Choose an existing short article or chapter
- Tell the history of a person, place, or thing
- Tell a story about a collection of objects
- Demonstrate a “How to” process
2. Competitive and Inspirational Research
Find different websites relevant to your site. These sites are your possible competition and can be inspiration. In order to attract your audience to your site, see what’s possible, and stay current, you need to know what’s out there. Compare and contrast the sites you found:
- What is your first impression / first impulse?
- Is the site organized and consistent?
- Is there enough or too much content? Is the content interesting/relevant?
- Does the appearance of the site reflect the content?
- What stands out, both good and bad?
- What do you think of the interactivity and/or animations?
- Take screenshots of relevant pages of these websites and explain why you chose them.
3. Content Breakdown: Type out and breakdown the text.
- Are there any word/image associations?
- What is the story structure?
- How can the story be chunked out?
- What are innovative approaches to organize and represent the story?
- What are the main themes of the story?
